April 15, 2011
Dear Church Family,
The remembrance and celebration of the Passion and the Resurrection of our Lord is upon us! We wanted to take a few minutes and remind you of some of the opportunities that will be available to you during this meaningful season…
Lord’s Supper
First, this Sunday, April 17, we will be receiving the Lord’s Supper in both morning worship services. Don’t miss this important opportunity to gather on Palm Sunday and remember Christ’s sacrifice for us!
Good Friday
On Good Friday (April 22) the Corsicana Ministerial Alliance will be joining together for a community-wide worship service. It will take place at FBC Corsicana at 6:30pm. The FBC choir will be singing, and Bro. Danny will be one of several preachers to speak. Let’s make sure that FBC Corsicana leads the way in attendance!
Family Picnic & Easter Egg Hunt
Also, let's join together for some fun & fellowship. This year our picnic and egg hunt will be held at Fullerton-Garitty Park on Saturday, April 23. The event will start at 9:00 am and end at 12:30 pm. Bob & Donna O'Toole will once again cook delicious hot dogs. We need your help with some of the other items. Help out by bringing the following based on the first letter of your last name:
A-F chips and 1 pack of hot dog buns
G–M drinks (cold canned drinks, juice pouches, or bottled water) and 1 pack of hot dog buns
N-Z desserts (cookies, cupcakes or fruit chews) and 1 pack of hot dog buns
We hope to have more people than ever before. It's going to take a lot of eggs. So we are asking each family to bring 18 plastic eggs for each child in their family. The eggs should be filled with individually wrapped candy (NO chocolate or peanut). Please invite a friend or neighbor. This will be a lot of fun!
Resurrection Sunday!!!
“He is Risen!...He is Risen Indeed!!” This has been the enthusiastic statement and response of God’s people over the centuries! Get ready to echo these words as we joyfully celebrate our Living Lord on Sunday, April 24! We will be packed at both worship services, so plan on arriving early and celebrating the hope we have in Jesus. Also, on this day we will enjoy a special time during worship called the “Living Cross.” We ask everyone to bring a fresh-cut, long-stemmed flower to be used in this time. (The church will provide some extras for our guests.)
Ready to See YOU on Sunday,
