Great Start!

Today I want to begin by saying that I am thrilled with the beginning that the Lord is providing us together! I know many of you have shared with me how excited you are about all that is happening in our church, and I am just thanking God for it! He is deserving of all the praise! Just to offer some figures to bless our hearts, in the month of January we welcomed 27 new members into our church. So far in February, we have added 17 more. That’s 44 new additions to our church since the beginning of the year. Praise be to God! Also, we are averaging 703 in worship and 587 in Bible Study since the first of the year! The Lord is just beginning to move. Let’s commit to open ourselves fully to the amazing days ahead in His hands!

“Family Night at First”

Wednesday nights are about to really take off, as we have restructured our overall plan to involve everyone...including YOU!! We have looked hard at Wednesday Nights, and we recognized that much of our programming was not family friendly. This has now changed, so beginning this coming Wednesday, Feb. 23 we will have a new structure. Our Family Meal will run from 5:15-6:00pm. Activities for all ages will begin at 6pm. (Now we all start at the same time!) In addition, we will now welcome our Spanish-speaking membership to Wednesday nights for Prayer & Bible Study. The staff has summed it up this way...“English-speaking, Spanish-speaking, All Ages, All of Us!” I hope you will choose to come and join us! We all need mid-week nourishment! I hope you and your entire family will come to be fed both physically & spiritually.

Lord’s Supper

On Sunday, Feb. 27 our church will join together to share the Lord’s Supper in both morning worship services. There is no time of worship that is more meaningful than to remember the loving sacrifice of our Lord through the symbols of the bread and the juice. I want to encourage everyone to make it a priority to be with us that morning.

Church on Purpose

In closing, I want remind you of the important discussion we have been having on Sunday mornings, namely that we must be a “Church on Purpose.” Let’s commit FBC Corsicana’s Purpose Statement to memory. Here it is...

“In order to advance the Kingdom of God & the Lordship of Jesus Christ, FBC is a Great Commission Church...We lead people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ…We mature them as His loving disciples…And we send them out as His witnesses.”

May it always be so! On purpose across the aisle, across the street, and across the globe!

Proud to Be Your Pastor,

Danny Reeves
