"Hello, FBC Corsicana! This article marks the first time I get to write to you, and my heart is full of thanksgiving. First of all, I am praising God for the ways He has guided us to come and serve alongside of you. There are great days ahead, and we are fully anticipating the possibilities God has in store! Second, I am thankful for the amazing beginning that we shared together last Sunday! The Spirit of God was truly moving among us as we added 10 new people to our church family, welcomed 618 for Bible Fellowship, and saw 778 come to worship (including our Kidzpraise & pre-schoolers). That is a great start! Third, I am thankful for the loving gift you offered to the Reeves family. I was told that the church had decided to give us a monetary love gift rather than a traditional pounding…and pound us you did! Thank you for being so generous. We recieved many gifts cards and other expressions of love that came in just the right way at just the right time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Finally today, I want to remind everyone of the fun and creative "Get-To-Know-Events" that have been planned for these beginning days together. This Friday, Jan. 21, we will have "Pancakes with Our Pastor" for all Senior Adults. The pancakes will be served at 5:30 pm in the Family Life Center Gym. Games will follow afterwards for all who want to be a part in the Fellowship Hall. Then, this coming Sunday, Jan. 23, I will go to be with our Special Ministries during Bible Fellowship for "Pastries with the Pastor!" There are many other events as well…Picnic with the Pastor (families with children on Sunday, Jan. 30); Pizza with the Pastor (families with teens on Friday, Feb. 4); Pecan Pie with the Pastor (choir members on Wednesday, Feb. 9); Pasta with the "Past-a" (for anyone not fitting with the other groupings on Sunday, Feb. 13); and Tacos al Pastor (Hispanic Fellowship on Sunday, Feb. 20). All in all, these events are going to give all of us a great chance to get to know one another. They will offer a wonderful time to pray and seek God's direction, and they will provide an opportune chance to fellowship as brothers and sisters in Christ! I hope you will choose to be a part and bring a friend!
In closing, I will offer the words I shared on Sunday morning… "This is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!"
Proud to Be Your Pastor,
